Anybody who has done the same task over and over knows that the mind will tend to roam once the body and brain is capable of doing the job on autopilot. Storytellers do it, linebackers do it, doctors do it, teachers do it, and, I hate to tell you, preachers do it—even during funerals. This story is based loosely on two guys I knew from my first church. I did the funeral of one of these guys, and, as to not give anything away in case you haven’t listened to the story yet, my mind wandered as I watched three doves flying around the graveyard.
